This article by Beth Baker discusses various health benefits that have been found regarding friendship and social support. I will use this article in my essay to discuss the importance of friendship.

iVillage is a popular website that has many features including message boards. This playgroup message board is what is left of the originating playgroup from which the April Exiles were formed. I will use this site to show how many people have managed to remain in the group compared to the people in our offshoot forum.

This particular article deals with the effects of friendship and social support on stress. I will use pieces of this article to discuss the importance of friendship and health.

April Exiles is a group of approximately twenty-five women who began a pregnancies in 2001 with a due date of April 2002. This forum is the break-off group from iVillage's expecting club/play group forum. I will explore why these twenty-five women have managed to remain friends after seven years and use that information to relate how to retain friendships.

This wikiHow gives tips on how to make friends online which I will use to show the origins of the friendships formed on the April Exiles message board.

Brad Paul has written an article focusing on defining friendship and explaining what makes a friendship work. His information will help me relate why the Exiles have remained friends.

Marla Paul's article about the search for adult friendships contains information that will lend credence to my claim that friendships are important to find and maintain.
